Friendship
Friendship is like money, easier made than kept.
~ Samuel Butler ~
This quote struck a cord with me today. I guess we’ve all made friendships that we think will last a lifetime. Then for whatever reasons…they don’t.
I’ve lost wonderful friends for many different reasons. Most often it is just life moving on; New jobs, new cities or new interests.
Sometimes however it is because of a conflict or misunderstanding. These losses are the most painful for me. Have you ever been left thinking, “Did I really ever know this person?”
Sigh…
Why is my life as a stay-at-home mom filled with more drama then when I was in High School? Seriously. I hate the Mamma Drama.

A Classic Mommy Moment
Here is an example as to why I should never try to multi-task.
Today I was on the phone with a good friend of mine. As we were talking I was loading the dishwasher with dirty dishes. At some point one of my children interrupted me with a question. Shortly after I was back happily talking and emptying the dishwasher.
Did you catch my error? If not go back and re-read the above paragraph.
I was almost done when I stopped and thought “Was I suppose to be emptying it?”
NO!

NO!
So I found myself removing dishes from the cupboard. I installed the policy of when in doubt wash it. From now on I will sit comfortably on the couch to chat and I will leave my household chores for later!

Hugs
Tonight I was comforting my son. My five-year-old son who felt so big in my arms. We sat on his bed and hugged for a very long time. I told him that I loved him always and forever. A phrase I've whispered to him since he was a baby. Then I told him I was so lucky to be his mom. He gave me a little squeeze. I hope he knows I meant each word.

Beautiful

I noticed this photo in my latest People Magazine and fell in love with it. It’s an advertisement for Kodak with the caption: “printing made honest”.
I love it.
I’m so used to seeing beautiful children (probably airbrushed like everyone else in magazines). This picture could easily be my little butter bean…melting popsicle and all.
Real life. Yeah Kodak!
