Cat for Sale!

Okay, I’m not really selling our cat. I might be tempted to pay YOU if you’d take him however.

I’m only half joking.

I’ve never been much of an animal person. My Dad wouldn’t let us have a pet when I was growing up. So this whole “cat experience” is new to me.

Can you medicate cats? Please don’t hate me for asking. I’m just wondering. I think WyKat could use some medical intervention. When I listen to my other cat owning friends their cats sound so sweet…relaxed…friendly…independent. I sometimes think WyKat spends his free time thinking up a new way to upset me.

He has a scratching post. Well, a couple actually. You wouldn’t know it if you looked at our couch. I still haven’t replaced the curtains he destroyed last month. Why? He’ll only attack the new ones when given the opportunity.

Which brings me back to my questions; can you medicate cats? Would my vet look at me harshly if I asked him?

LOL - I often think my dog needs to be medicated.

No lie - a vet once offered us valium for our Taz cat. I turned them down because I just couldn't do it but yes, you can medicate cats. I'm just saying.... :)

I know someone whose cats were put on a kitty anti-depressant. It happens.

Weird question...how old is your cat? Is the cat male or female? Sometimes gender and age have something to do with it, as well as whether or not they're fixed.

Your vet may also try other things...I had a cat that was subject to acupuncture to control her yearnings for peeing on the carpet. It didn't work, but you never know when it might.

I'm a fellow blogger chick/blogging chick and thought i'd stop by.

My cat is male and is 7 years old. He is fixed. I think he is just wild by nature. He'd probably be a lot happier on a farm, but the kids love him. Okay...I love him too, but some days I could easily send him packing - LOL
