I grew up in a house that had a basement. My parents never had a problem with storage space. Storage was something that I took for granted when I married and purchased my first home. The basement contained a great rec room, a laundry room, and of course a nice sized storage room.
Then I moved about a year ago to a State where houses do not have basements (GASP!). Apparently it has something to do with the ground soil. I have to say I really, really miss my basement.
In my present home we have a small storage closet under the staircase. It is helpful, but not nearly as large as a typical family needs. So lately I have been looking at different options to help me find some storage solutions.
I came across some great garage ceiling storage shelves. This is a great invention! It never occurred to me the large amount of untapped space a garage ceiling could provide. I am giddy just thinking about it. How can you tell I’m a mother?? Only a mom would get excited over potential new storage space. LOL
There are also some pretty impressive storage bins and cabinets that are catching my eye. They would fit in my garage and can hold a large amount. My stuff would be kept organized and protected safely behind the storage doors. What could be better?
It is hard enough to keep a house de-cluttered with children and toys. So if I have a place to store my other things in the garage this would seriously free up closet space and give me some more breathing room. Maybe this would help me be less frazzled?? Here's hoping!

I love storage and organization stores and stuff like that. I think when I'm a mom I might go (more) crazy with it or give up on it completely.
