Journey Lite

I think I’ve blogged about my cousin in the past. She has been seriously considering getting the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding. She continues to hesitate, but I think in the New Year she will go a head with the surgery.

If you are considering this type of surgery I would strongly suggest doing your research. It is also helpful to talk to qualified physicians as well as patients who have undergone the procedure.

You could speak with a lapband doctor at Journey Lite. They specialize in Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (which is also known as LAGB or the LAP BAND system procedure). It is designed to help you lose excess body weight, which in turn will improve your health and quality of life. In a nutshell it restricts the amount of food that can be consumed at one sitting.

This procedure seems fairly simple as the doctor makes tiny incisions and then wraps an inflatable silicone band around the upper part of the stomach. At Journey Lite a narrow camera is passed through an incision so the surgeon can view the operative site on a nearby video monitor. It sounds very high tech doesn’t it? Then the band is locked securely in a ring around the stomach.

In turn, a smaller stomach pouch is created that holds smaller amounts of food. This causes you to feel fuller quicker. The upside is you actually eat less and lose weight while still feeling full and satisfied after eating.

My cousin is very optimistic this could be the answer for her.
