Just Another Day

Last night our dishwasher broke down. It is less then a year old, so I'm more then a little annoyed. My dear husband thinks he can fix it. Yet he can't even figure out what is wrong. Men! Any way, I was too lazy last night to wash the dishes by hand, so this morning I went to fill up the kitchen sink. Except I couldn't find the plug. Don't laugh! It is seriously missing. I'm lazy and basically stick everything in the dishwasher. So I rarely wash dishes by hand...still the plug should be under the sink. I pulled everything out and it is no where to be seen. Great.

Speaking of luck...I guess I'm lucky I'm not my friend Jen from back home. My best bud Judy emailed me last night. I guess the affair rumors are not so far off. It is still hard for me to believe though. Sandra (another member of my old group who is married with 3 kids) supposedly had a short term thing with Jen's husband.

I don't know how to make anyone who reads this blog understand. All I can say is Sandra doesn't seem the type. Maybe there isn't a "type" when it comes to this thing. I was always under the impression she was happily married. So for her to not only cheat, but cheat with a friend's husband.... I just can't wrap my head around it.

I'll share Judy's email.

Hey -
Sorry I couldn't call you today - the kids have been driving my crazy and I just didn't have two seconds to myself all day. I guess I shouldn't complain since at least they weren't throwing up all over me like yours have been doing.

Anyway - I wanted to share the latest with you (at least, this is the latest that I know. It's moving fast and furiously though so who knows how much more to the story there really is). Are you sitting down?

Sandra was having an affair with Jennifer's husband! Can you even believe it? So much for the christian value of not coveting your neighbors wife. Ho - ly! I guess it all started this spring when we had that bbq over at Shel's house. Dave and Sandra were talking at a table but of course no one gave it much thought. Apparently that's when they "hit it off" so to speak and then it was a fairly quick trip to sin-city.

Here's
the REALLY sad part though. Emmy was the one who blew their cover. Apparently she innocently walked into a scene that no child should see - their father kissing another woman! Can you imagine????? She must have asked her mom about it or mentioned it or something because the next thing we knew Sandra and Jennifer were bickering like you can only imagine. It has NOT been pretty! I'm not sure what is going to happen from here. Dave swears it's over and meant "nothing" and plans to stay if Jen will let him. And I have no idea how Ben is taking any of this. I can't say I'm doing all that much talking with Sandra. If there is a side to take in this (and I think there is!) I'm firmly planted on Jen's side. Whoa!

Is this unreal or what???

Wow. That is SO sad. I feel bad for your friend. Mostly though I feel sorry for the kids involved.
:(

Sorry about the plug for your sink. Although honestly, it made me laugh. :) Ah the life if a mom, eh?

Wow! Life is often crazier then fiction isn't it? I hope the kids are okay and the parents get their acts together.

Like Casey, I'm sorry to hear about your sink. I hope you found your plug! :o)

To this I can speak in all honesty and with experience....

THERE IS NOT A TYPE!

I am the girl next door. I am the kindergarten teacher. I am a good girl. I am a former mistress. It isn't something that I am either proud of or ashamed of. It is what it is.

People cheat for all sorts of reasons. Maily because of opportunity. It doesn't mean that they don't love their spouse or are unhappy with their life. Cause most of the time, they do.

I don't see myself ever doing it again. But, I don't think it made me a bad person. I say this knowing that many of your readers will probably disagree.....

I hope your friends can work things out. Where there is a will, there is a way.
