Credit Cards

Credit Cards... Is it possible in the year 2007 to live without a credit card? I don’t think so. They are too quick, easy and convenient to use. Plus one would think they are safer then carrying around a large amount of money in your wallet. They are also a necessity if you do any shopping online or if you want to build a good credit rating.

Personally, I need a credit card. I will admit I have always been afraid of debt. Therefore credit cards used to really scare me. I did not have one until I was in my late 20’s (keep in mind the internet was not around back then). I knew a lot of friends who got cards in their late teens and abused them. They were then left with some major debt that took years to pay off. To this day I try to keep my monthly balance at zero or close too.

With the importance we place credit cards in our lives today, we really should educate ourselves more before signing up with a particular company. We really need to investigate and determine the best credit cards for our particular needs.

I know I need to take the time to look at each company’s balance transfer fees, introductory offers and reward systems. Credit card companies work for for us. It is important to take the time to educate ourselves and in return we will only benefit.

I understand your concern with on-line shopping, but most sites are secure.

I have an on-line gift ship, Rhonda's Fabric Gifts, soon to be Giggles & Sugar Kisses. I have never encountered a problem with my customer's personal information. I use Paypal to handle all transactions, I never see my customer's credit card or other personal information.

Hope this helps to eliminates some of your fear.
